Support

Find out more about how we support our communities. Take a look at some of the support we offer and initiatives we're involved with.

Vigils and Protests

Since our protests, we have seen the introduction of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.

It is important to understand the gravity this act has on us, not only as a group of like-minded comrades gathering in a public place but also the implications on individual protesters. We have a lot of experience protesting and are well versed on the extensive, necessary measures that must be taken to carry out these important expressions of truth, safely and legally.

If you need support with protesting or conducting a vigil, whether this be advice or help with organising, Please get in touch on any platform you feel comfortable and let us help you.

MindSeed

At ABLUK, we take mental health very seriously. We have big plans for the mental health system in the UK and we could really use your help. MindSeed is the name of our latest project focused on supporting the Black community, primarily in dealing with the impact of racial trauma and how to cope when you are subjected to social injustice. It is no secret there are systemic problems within the current healthcare system, there is an unjust disparity when it comes to Black people's health, especially in conversations about mental health, but even more particularly, when dealing with racism and its associated traumas. This project is still in early stages and we are currently conducting research that will support us in our mission to create a safe space for the Black community to talk about mental health and heal from trauma caused by racial injustice.

Please click the link below, fill out the form and send us your thoughts about what you would like to see, such as improvements for the Black community in the mental health space, what you want to keep the same, we want to hear it all.

All opinions and experiences are valid, please know you are invited to make a contribution, as your opinion could be crucial in us accessing the support we need to start making these changes.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Please note, we are already aware of a variety of issues within the mental healthcare space for Black people in the UK. We need your help to solidify these experinces statistically, expand our horizons on issues we are unaware of, and to gather a 'big picture' perspective of the issues at hand, and of the gravity of the impact.

We would also like to hear about positive experiences, we want to hear about organisations that have been commendable and make a positive impact for the Black community, so please share the good, the bad and the whatever in-between. We want to hear it.
